You want to try out a wig, but you’re totally new to this and you don’t know where to start. A beginner-friendly wig that doesn’t require lots of maintenance is what you’re looking for. The market offers tons of wigs and it’s quite overwhelming to choose out of. You see terms you’ve never heard of and It’s all too much. You just want to get into wigs in the easiest, most comfortable, and least self-conscious, nerve-wracking way possible. That’s what this blog post is about, to show you a few easy beginner-friendly wigs to start with as a newbie in the world of wigs.
A beginner-friendly wig to me is a wig that is easy to put on and take off, without the help of adhesives. A wig that’s not too heavy and comfortable to wear. One, that looks natural, most likely looks just like your natural hair. A wig that’s easy to maintain, not too full, and not too long hair. A beginner-friendly wig in one sentence is basically a wig you can put on, take off, and style by yourself without the help of a hairdresser or any adhesives.
The type of wigs I consider beginner-friendly are; pixie cut wigs, wigs with bangs, and closure wigs. Frontal wigs are not beginner-friendly because the wig will slide off your head if you don’t use adhesives to secure the wig.
Synthetic and Human Hair Wigs
Wigs are made of different hair qualities. The two most common qualities to choose from are synthetic hair and human hair. The quality you choose is based on your preference. Synthetic wigs are usually more affordable than human hair wigs. There are some very affordable human hair wigs these days that are in the same price range as synthetic wigs. Some people find synthetic wigs easier to take care of than human hair wigs. I personally prefer human hair wigs. I tried a synthetic wig before but it literally turned into a bird’s nest after a few days. The main reason for that is because I didn’t know how to take care of it. I prefer a wig with hair that reacts just like the hair on our head would. To be honest the bird’s nest trauma was enough to keep me away from synthetic wigs.
The beginner-friendly wigs I’ve listed below are all human hair wigs.
Beginner Friendly Wig 1:
The pixie cut wig
The pixie cut wig is a well known beginner-friendly wig because it’s easy to put on and take off. It’s a short wig that requires low maintenance. Pixie cut wigs come in different styles. I have two pixie cut wigs that have no closure or frontal, they are slightly different. I like one more than the other.
Beginner Friendly Wig 2:
A wig with bangs
A wig with bangs is another beginner-friendly wig. There are different wigs with bangs. I would not recommend a frontal wig with bangs. If you don’t secure the frontal wig with bangs with an adhesive it will come off. There are wigs with bangs without a closure or a frontal and there are wigs with a closure bang. These types of wigs with bangs constructions are also easy to put on and take off. I also have two different closure wigs with bangs that I’ve made myself.
Beginner Friendly Wig 3:
A closure wig
A closure wig is beginner-friendly because you don’t need any adhesives or help from a hairdresser to put it on and take it off. Now, not all closure wigs are beginner-friendly and this depends on the length and the structure of the hair. The longer and the curlier the hair the higher the maintenance.
I’ve ordered all of the wigs and hair bundles that I turned into a wig above on Aliexpress. Aliexpress is an online Chinese retailer with different small (majority Chinese) companies that sell relatively cheap products worldwide. It’s very tempted to order products on Aliexpress because of the low prices. Please be cautious when you order products on Aliexpress because It can be a hit or a miss.
