Hair in Velcro Rollers & Remington Dry & Style Airstyler Tools

The Remington Dry & Style Airstyler is the new edition of my styling tool family. I accidentally discovered this tool by watching TikTok and YouTube videos. I wanted to know how I could get a salon blown-out look at home. A tool like this one seems to play a major role in getting that. This is the main reason that made me want to try this Airstyler out.

Why did I buy the Remington Dry & Style Airstyler

Hair Before Styling my Hair

I bought the Remington Dry & Style Airstyler because I’ve developed an obsession to get bouncy voluminous hair. Seeing that fresh blown-out look, like you just came from the salon is everything to me at the moment. I also wanted to achieve that big voluminous bouncy look at home. This made me search for ways to do it myself.

That’s when I came across these video’s. I noticed that the important tools to achieve this look are a blowdryer and a round blow dryer brush.
Now, If you’re not used to doing the technique of blow-drying and brushing your hair at the same time… I’m going to tell you that it’s a challenge. You’ll have to develop a position to do this technique in a way that works for you. Your arms and pols are going to hurt the first few times. It basically takes time and effort to get used to doing this and I gave it a try.

A beginner friendly solution

The uncomfortableness of brushing and blow-drying my hair at the same time didn’t hold me back. The obsession to get this look at home kept triggering me. After giving this method a couple of tries I gave up. I did not want to put in that much work for my wrists to end up burning. I know that sounds a bit over exaggerated but this made me go and look for more beginner friendly solutions.

And there was the solution; a blow dryer brush, a two-in-one tool to get this hairstyle with a little less effort. There are tons of blow dryer brushes to choose from, each with its own settings. Some of the blow dryer brushes give a blow-dry look, and some create curls or waves. This depends on the size of the brush on the blowdryer. There are blow dryer brushes that can rotate or change the brushes to different sizes.

What type of blow dryer brush I wanted

With all the available options I made a mini checklist for myself to get the right blow dryer brush. I wanted a blow dryer brush that didn’t have a heavy, big, and bulky handle. The tool had to give me the options to change the brushes and the ability to blow cold air. Most importantly I didn’t want to pay more than 20,00 euro. If I didn’t like it I wouldn’t regret spending too much money on it.

My checklist landed me on this Revlon Blow Dryer brush that I could get for exactly 20 euros. I couldn’t buy the brush because it was sold out everywhere. The Revlon Blow Dryer brush is very much in trend these days. It was out of stock everywhere in the Netherlands. That’s when I came across my second option, the Remington Dry & Style Airstyler. It was under 15 euros on Amazon.

What options does the Remington Dry & Style Airstyler have?

The Remington Airstyler is an 800 Watt hot airbrush. It has three pieces: one mouthpiece to blow dry, one 21 mm brush, and a 38 mm brush. There is a plug to unplug the pieces. It has two heat settings, a cool shot function, and a 360 degrees cord.

How do I use the Remington Dry & Style Airstyler?

I haven’t used the blow dry tool yet. I’ve used the small brush on the front section of my hair. This section is short and it’s my bang area. The large brush is for the longer sections of my hair.
I curl a small section of my hair on the brush keeping it for 10 seconds on high hot air. Then I turn on the cold air for five seconds. This helps to lock the curl pattern in. Sometimes I use velcro rollers on each curled section until I finish styling my hair. Then I go do my make-up and get ready while I keep in the velcro rollers in my hair. I take them off when I’m all done then I brush and fluff my hair a little bit. Until I achieve the desired look.

Sidenote

I always use a heat protectant or a blow-dry cream before I use any form of heat. Sometimes I use the tiniest bit of styling oil on the sections of my hair that looks dry.

Pro’s of the Remington Dry & Style Airstyler

This tool is easy to use because it’s not heavy and the handle is not too thick. It has two hot air settings and it’s easy to switch to the cool air setting. The big brush gives more of a loose wave result. The small brush curls the hair.

Cons of the Remington Dry & Style Airstyler

It seems like this tool doesn’t have enough power and maybe that’s because it is just 800 Watt? Sometimes I’m afraid it will stop working because I feel that it can’t handle styling the hair.
Another con is that the longer sections of the hair can get stuck in the bristles of the small brush. I use the small brush only on the shorter pieces of my hair around my face or on my bangs.

Tip

Don’t panic when your hair gets stuck in the bristels of the small brush. Take a seat, relax and take your hair out very carefully, hair strand by hair strand.
